for this next project, i’m trying to stitch more spontaneously than usual.
the inspiration for it came from this knitting pattern for twisted stitch cable mittens embellished with embroidery. it’s a charming design that i’ve had my eyes on since way back when hand knitting was my craft of choice.
i still haven’t gotten around to knitting it yet, but thought i could create a similar effect with colorful hand embroidery on white machine embroidered fabric. it’s fun to watch the monochromatic fabric come to life, so to speak, becoming more cheerful with the addition of each new color.
今回はいつもより気ままな刺繍を試しています。
インスピレーションとなったのは、この可愛い手編みのミトン。
ツイストステッチのケーブル編みに刺繍をあしらったもので、以前編み物を主にやっていた頃に作りたいな、と思っていたものです。
未だに編んではいませんが (笑)、白い機械刺繍の生地にカラフルな手刺繍を施してこれを真似てみることにしました。
新たな色が加わるたびに明るく生き生きしてきて、その変化を見ているのが楽しいです。
