Spring Bouquet

my latest project is finally finished, strap and all.  a handbag this time, embroidered with a mix of cheerful spring flowers.  something about the colorful flowers on the dark teal linen reminds me of pretty tyrolean ribbon, though it wasn’t intentional.

the strap, though nothing fancy, turned out exactly as i wanted, so i’m glad i decided to make my own.  installing rivets was fun and easy to do once i figured out how hard to hammer them in so i wouldn’t mar the surface of the rivet.  and despite the simplicity of the process, the result is really professional-looking.  i definitely see more rivets in the future…

(so i admit– i just want to hammer in more rivets.  they’re addicting!)

  5. Wow, your purse turned out lovely and professional looking! Did you cut the leather and topstitch it yourself?
