Hosta Pen Case

and next finally,  a new project.  the hosta sieboldii pen case.  with single-strand stitching on the flower and the fiddly-ness of making a thin, long pouch, it took me more time than i anticipated.

the exterior is the usual linen, but for the interior, i used fake suede with a little thickness to add strength to the form and to complement the elegant look of the embroidery.  it can comfortably hold four pens.

while i didn’t do so intentionally, it seems to have a certain vintage feel — an effect that i’m rather pleased with.

This piece is lovely and finished beautifully. It should be very popular size

  3. The embroidery is, as always, delicate and lovely. The case is neat and beautifully attached to the metal closure. And the flirty purple beads just add a sweet accent that makes the case all the more special because of it. Love it!
