Return Journey

or what driving in the clouds at and altitude of 2100+ meters looks like.

while it was like this for the most part along route 292, the sun did peek out briefly when i stopped to climb mount kusatsu-shirane.  just as i had reached the summit, the sun broke through the clouds and shone down on the yugama, giving the turquoise crater lake an ethereal glow.  it looked as if the light was coming from below the water’s surface– really, a sight to behold.

i wonder what adventures this autumn will bring?

  1. Simply beautiful. The crater lake looks the color of iceberg run off. A color you don’t see many places. I bet it was cool riding through the mist.
