Mountain Vista

i always love sunny days, but when that falls within the rainy season, it’s a whole different level of appreciation.

while there were some clouds on this day, the air was clear enough that i could see mt. asama (middle of photo, pale blue mountain in the far distance) from where i stood, atop mt. dodaira in saitama prefecture.  considering that it stands on the border of gunma and nagano prefectures more than halfway across honshu towards the sea of japan, i was wowed by the amazing view– and at the same time, struck by the realization that japan is mighty small.

  1. Very nice, pretty view.

  2. Lovely views. I agree, Japan is small.
