rewind two weeks, back to may.  when we were having late-july temperatures two months early.  since it was way too hot to stay inside but too soon to start relying on the air conditioner, my son and i headed out away from town, in search for a cooler haven.

in tokigawa-machi’s sanba keikoku, we found just the spot.  the riverbed was cool and breezy and in no time at all, we had forgotten how hot the town had been.  as an added bonus, there was a great shaved ice shop there too, where you can choose from regular and naturally-made ice.  definitely worth the stop!

after cooling off inside and out, we headed back totally refreshed.  beats the air conditioning, every time.

  1. I can see that your outing was refreshing to the mind and soul as well as your body. A beautiful place.
