Two Weeks

in the end, that’s as far as we got before waiting became too much and they started disappearing, one by one.  the persimmons hadn’t developed the white powdery surface yet, but they were chewy on the outside and sweet & jelly-like on the inside, just like the store-bought ones.  so good!

it’s too late for another batch this year, but it’s another thing to look forward to, next fall.

二週間。
そこまで待ったら我慢できなくなり、一つまた一つと消えていきました。

まだ表面は白くなってはいなかったけれど、グミみたいな噛みごたえとゼリー状の中身は本格的な干し柿そのもの。切り干し大根や干し椎茸と同じく、自分で作ったものがこのように美味しく食べられることにその度感動します。

これで秋の楽しみがまた一つ増えました。
