Summer’s End

YB with lake nojiri

so i’m back.  hello!

as anticipated, i had a great time away.  after all was said and done, i had driven approximately 1230km in a little over three weeks, which is about the same distance i drove in about four months from the time i got my bike about this time last year.  looking at it that way, it seems like a whole lot.

for whatever reason, soft serve ice cream– especially special regional flavors– seems to be a popular snack among touring motorcyclists, so i had to do my modest share of taste testing.  of the seven different ones i ate during the trip, my favorite was a milk and coffee twist at michino-eki (roadside rest area), shimonita.  a must-try, if you are in the area.

i’m a bit wistful that it’s all over, but am refreshed and ready to start stitching again.  but first while i do some catching up on odds and ends, i’ll be sharing some photos from the trip over the new few posts.
