Green Line

green line 1

green line 2

the rainy season continues in the kanto region, but i’m making use of the brief periods of sunny weather to take shorter rides closer to home.  like last friday.

after a morning of stitching, i rode out to tokigawa to grab lunch at a udon shop i visited once before, back last autumn.  this time, they had a summer special on their menu– regular udon + yomogi udon half and half served with a cold sesame seed and miso broth– which is what i chose.  it was really refreshing and delicious… so much so that i finished it before i remembered to take a photo.

re-energized, i decided to tackle the oku-musashi green line, a route passing through a series of mountain passes of tokigawa and hanno and coming out by kuroyama santaki in ogose.  it was a hazy day, so the views weren’t that great, but the ride through the mountains was cool and refreshing and the twisty roads exciting– a great remedy for a hot and humid day.

though there weren’t all that many branches in the road, i must have taken a wrong turn at one point as i came out of the mountains a couple of passes too soon.  guess i’ll just have to take another go at it… darn!
