At the Top

tokigawa observatory tokyo sky tree 1 tokyo sky tree 2 roadside view

on top of mt. dodaira.  nothing but the blue sky– and all the world below.

the air was amazingly clear, and because of that, i could even see the tokyo sky tree from here for the first time.  it doesn’t look so far away when zoomed up.  but in fact, there are mountains, farms, cities, and a whole lot of everydays unfolding in between.   to provide a sense of actual distance– the tower can be seen off on the horizon to the left in the third photo.

as i admired the stunning views, i found myself softly singing the carpenters’ on top of the world.

Beautiful. And the grass is such a deep green. Here in the Napa Valley, California the grass gets a bright yellow green, never as dark as the one in your pics. Of course, we are desert so any grass is a tiny miracle. Any way your pictures are just stunning.
