lunéville prep lunéville leaf

for the first time in a long while, i picked up my lunéville hook to do some bead embroidery for my next project.  but because it’s really been quite some time since i used the method last, when i sat down to begin, i realized i had forgotten how to start the thread.  and when i thought about it, i couldn’t remember how to end the thread either.

feeling a little alarmed,  i threaded the beads, picked up my hook and thread, brought it through the fabric– and to my surprise, my hands remembered what my mind could not, as if it had a memory of its own.  though they were a bit awkward with the maneuvers, the technique that i had learned was thankfully, still there.
