Year’s First

tokigawa market tokigawa 2

lured by the bright sunshine, i headed out on my first touring of the year today.  since i just wanted to enjoy the ride, i rode out in the direction of tokigawa with no set destination in mind.  the winds were calm, the sun was warm– it was hard to believe that this was mid-january.

though tempted, i wasn’t foolish enough to venture into the mountain passes at this time of the year, so i took a coffee break at the quaint farmer’s market that marked the beginning of the winding passes before heading back.

despite the good weather, motorbiking in winter is cold… very cold.  but it’s also exhilarating at the same time.  to be able to feel the seasons with my skin– that to me, is one of the attractions of riding a motorcycle.
