happy 2016!

i spent the holidays as i usually do with family in nagano.  it’s been a warm winter this year with so little snow that looking at the landscape, one could easily believe that spring was just around the corner.  it was so warm, in fact, that fukinotou (giant butterbur buds), which usually don’t come up until march, were already peeking out.  i felt lucky, getting a taste of spring in the middle of winter.

for the upcoming year, i’ve got a lot of goals set out for myself both crafting-wise and touring-wise, and am determined to fulfill as many of those as possible.  here’s hoping for a productive year ahead!

And a happy new year to you too. Here in England we have had the warmest and wettest December on record. Plants that shouldn’t be above ground yet are already flowering but the weather is set to change and they are going to get a shock, poor things. I look forward to seeing more of your beautiful crafting this year.
