Lunch Vista

vista park 1 vista park 2 vista park 3

decided to go for lunch with a view. i took my obento to the top of an observatory at a hilltop park in ogawa-machi. surrounded by mountains, the town lies far below, just a tiny diorama with matchbox cars– and motorbikes.

in looking over the the viewing guide, i noticed that one of the mountains was doudairasan— and did a double take. i’ve been there a number of times in the past, but didn’t realize just how tall it was until i saw it like this, from a distance. in the third photo, it’s the flat peak to the very left behind the foreground mountains.  i couldn’t believe i thought to tackle it so soon… and found that it’s possible to become retrospectively intimidated.

a case of ignorance is bliss, i guess!

Your wonderful book arrived yesterday and I LOVE it. The flowers are lovely and true to life but most importantly not beyond my embroidery ability. The projects will be just perfect for gifts – my joy in needlework. Thank you!
