June Is


…the season for making ume-shu, or plum wine.  the process is simple– the hard part is the long wait.  it’s ready to drink starting in about three months time, but since the longer it sits the better, i’m going to try to save it for at least six months.

and yet already, i’m checking on it a few times a day as if doing so would make it mature that much faster.  it’s much like waiting for christmas to arrive back in my childhood days, with the same impatient question:

“how many more days??”

6月と言えば梅の季節。今年は梅酒作りに初挑戦しました。作り方は簡単! 大変なのは長い待ち時間です。3ヶ月から飲めるそうですが、長い方が良いとのことで6ヶ月を目標にしました。
