Read In 2013

books 2013 hiroshi homura2013 turned out to be a year of reading mainly japanese fiction.  i discovered several authors i like–shuuichi yoshida, kanako nishi, hiro arakawa– and plan to continue reading their works in 2014.  and i’m finishing off the year with my favorite tanka poet & essayist, hiroshi homura’s newest collection of previously-published essays.  homura’s essays on everyday happenings are funny & lighthearted– his voice is akin to that of bill bryson– leaving one chuckling and saying, yes! i know what he means.
