Scrap Box

scrap box four-unit box

when i embroider, i like to keep a little box for scraps beside me to collect the thread ends and knot clippings.  an origami box suits the job perfectly– this one was made for me by my six-year old, and is comprised of four units.

i had intended on emptying it regularly, but the more the threads accumulated, the more reluctant i became about throwing them out.  not only is the colorful jumble visually appealing in its own random way, but it’s also like an archive of projects past, giving me a sense of peering back in time.  memories reside in such unexpected places!

i can’t bear to part with these just yet, so i’ll continue to hoard my scraps.
