dried shiitake

kiriboshi daikon

despite the uncooperative weather, my shiitake mushrooms are now dried and ready to be stored.  same for the daikon– only, it’s already been cooked and eaten.  compared with the store-bought dried daikon, the texture is softer & more plump, yet crunchy.  it’s hard to beat homemade!

hopefully, the sun will come out soon so that I can dry some more.

あいにくの天気が続いたけれど、どうにか干し椎茸が出来上がりました。切り干し大根も出来たのですが...すでに煮物にして食べてしまいました。市販のに比べるとよりふっくらしていてやわらかいのに、しっかり歯ごたえもあってしゃきしゃきしています。

やっぱり自家製が一番!次晴れの日が続くときにもっと作らねば。
